Abstract:

Objective We explored the bacteriostasis method for B concentrated dialysate, so as to conform the industrial standards of China. Methods We decrease the oxygen content by controlling the amount of carbon dioxide or nitrogen in solution, through which bacterial growth rate is inhibited. Result The stability of B concentrated dialysate is enhanced when oxygen content in solution is reduced. Conclusion Nitrogen can replace oxygen in solution despite no bacteriostatic activity from nitrogen. Carbon dioxide can replace oxygen in solution and also has bacteriostatic activity.
