Abstract: 【Abstract】Objective To present the registration report about departmental settings for nephrology, professional members and dialysis equipments in Foshan district.  Methods The dialysis registrations included 17 hospitals. The registration period was from the beginning to ending of 2010, and the information was statistical analyzed.  Results There were 17 hospitals in Foshan district performing hemodialysis, and 5 of them offered peritoneal dialysis simultaneously. Of the 17 hospitals, 6 hospitals established a special department, 11 hospitals had a specialized group, but no hospital designated doctors specialized to dialysis service. Of the 90 nephrologists in these hospitals, the professional title ratio of chief physician, associate chief doctor, attending doctor and doctor was 14.8%, 28.4%, 27.3% and 29.5%, respectively. Their educational level ratio of doctorate, master, bachelor, and college was 6.8%, 28.4%, 64.8% and 0%, respectively. Of the 180 nephrology nurses in these hospitals, the professional title ratio of chief director nurse, vice-director nurse, charge nurse, senior nurse, and nurse was 0.6%, 3.3%, 33.9%, 41.7% and 20.6%, respectively. Their education level ratio of bachelor degree, college, and technical secondary school was 8.9%, 61.7% and 29.4%, respectively. Of the 17 hospitals, medical technicians served exclusively for the nephrology department in 2 hospitals, and shared with other service departments in 15 hospitals. There were 256 hemodialysis machines, including 7 CRRT machines, 9 dialyser reuse devices, and 3 automated peritoneal dialysis machines. Conclusion Nephrology department and teams of nephrologists and nurses are expanding continuously in Foshan district. The education level ratio is relatively optimal in both doctor and nurse teams. With the enlargement of dialysis center scale in Foshan district, dialysis machines increase rapidly. A total of 17 hospitals including 6 town-level hospitals in Foshan district performed hemodialysis, and 5 of them offered peritoneal dialysis simultaneously.
