Abstract:  In April 2023, the American Society for Apheresis (ASFA) released the 9th edition of guidelines for clinical practice of therapeutic apheresis. Based on published literature, these guidelines define the quality of evidence and the recommended strength of therapeutic apheresis in the treatment of diseases, and discuss the clinical application of therapeutic apheresis in 91 disease (166 indications). This article focuses on the interpretation of clinical multidisciplinary applications of plasma component purification technology, including plasma exchange and immuneadsorption.
