Abstract: Durable and stable vascular access is the prerequisite for maintenance hemodialysis in uremic patients. Dysfunctioning of arteriovenous fistula affects the quality of life of hemodialysis patients. Physical or thrombolysis treatment can be used as a recanalization method for dysfunctioning fistula at early stage. Interventional or surgical measure has to be used for fistula occlusion for a longer period of time. Therefore, rescue management at the early stage of fistula occlusion increases the chance for recanalization of the fistula, and also alleviates the disease and financial burdens of the patients. This paper summarizes
the rescue strategies for dysfunctioning of arteriovenous internal fistula.
