Abstract: Erythropoietin (EPO) is used in clinical treatment of anemia in chronic kidney disease patients. Hyporesponsiveness of EPO occurs in some patients due to iron deficiency, inflammation, oxidative stress, etc. Adequate dialysis, improvement of nutritional status, and the use of long-acting EPO may have effect on the EPO hyporesponsiveness.
