Abstract: 【Abstract】Chronic kidney disease(CKD) patients are often accompanied by various degrees of iron deficiency and iron metabolism disorders; hepcidin, inflammation, erythropoietin and hypoxia-inducing factors are involved in the abnormalities. Iron deficiency can be classified into absolute iron deficiency and functional iron deficiency. Hepcidin, ferritin and transferrin saturation are useful markers to evaluate and diagnose iron deficiency. Clinically, rational use of iron supplements, reduction of hepcidin level, and improvement of iron metabolism are critical in the treatment of iron deficiency in CKD patients.
