Abstract: Stenosis and occlusion are common complications of arteriovenous access, and percutaneous transluminal angioplasty is the first-line treatment for these complication. In recent years, ultrasound-guided percutaneous transluminal angioplasty is gradually being developed in China. However, there is currently a lack of uniformity in treatment concepts and technical operations among various units. Some doctors may not grasp the details properly, or use equipment in a standardized way, which may result in unsatisfactory treatment outcomes and a higher incidence of procedure-related complications. Meanwhile, there are still many units in need of adopting this technology. Given these issues, this expert consensus compiled by the Vascular Access Expert Committee of the Blood Purification Center Branch of the Chinese Hospital Association, combined evidence-based medicine and clinical practice experience, systematically introduced the standardized operation procedures for ultrasound-guided percutaneous transluminal angioplasty of arteriovenous access. The aim of this consensus is to promote, standardize, and improve the performance of ultrasound-guided arteriovenous access percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, benefiting hemodialysis patients in our country.
