Abstract

【Abstract】Objective To investigate the relationship between increased peritoneal transport rate and inflammation, malnutrition. Methods 46 CAPD patients were included in the study. The peritoneal transport function was divided into high transportation, high average, low average and low transportation according to the result of PET. Plasma TNF-α、IL-6 and albumin were tested by biochemical instruments. Their nutritional status were also measured using subjective global assessment (SGA). Results There were 5 cases of low transportation(L), 13 cases of low average (LA), 20 cases of high average(HA) and 8 cases of high transportation type(H) according to PET results. The TNF-α was significantly higher and albumin level was significantly lower in high transport rate patients(P<0.05), while IL-6 was no significantly difference. According to SGA, there was much more malnutrition in high transport rate patients than that in low transport rate(P<0.05). conclusion The incidence of inflammation and malnutrition was higher in the high transport patients. It is suggested high transport rate may lead to inflammation, malnutrition.
