[Abstract] Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Ursofalk (UDCA) and artificial liver support system in treatment of chronic sever hepatitis. Methods 64 patients with chronic severe hepatitis were randomly divided into two groups : the treated group of 32 cases and the control group of 32 cases. The treatment group was treated with Ursofalk and artificial support systems in addition to conventional therapy. The control group was only treated with conventional therapy. Results In treated group,liver functions of the patients improved significantly (P<0.05). The markedly effective rate at 4 weeks was 46.9%, effective rate was 25.0%, and the total effective rate was 71.9%. There was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Ursofalk combined with artificial liver treatment and conventional therapy is safe and more effective in treatment of chronic severe hepatitis.
