Objective To investigate the application value of artificial liver support system (ALSS) with liver transplatation. Methods Two typical artificial liver support therapy, plasma exchange with continuous hemodialysis and filtration (CHDF), were employed in the treatment of the severe hepatitis patient, and were bridged to orthotopic liver transplantation successfully after 3 days. Results The patient's clinical status were controlled by the artificial liver support system temporarily and liver transplantation was acquired suuessfully. Conclusion Artificial liver support system have some supportive effect for patients with severe viral hepatitis to await liver transplantation. Liver trans-plantation is the most trustworthy method to correct liver failure thoroughly.
