Objective To evaluate the relationship between IL-6 and the acute phase response (APR) in hemodialysis patients. Methods High sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), Ceruloplasmin (CER) and a1-AG (AAG) concentration were measured in 63 hemodialysis patiens who had no obvious inflammation. At the same time, serum IL-6 were measured. Results IL-6, CER and AAG concentration were significantly higher in patients with hs-CRP higher than 10mg/L ( P < 0.05). In a line regression analysis, significant association was observed between IL-6 concentration and acute phase proteins' (hs-CRP, CER and AAG) concentration. Conclusion Sruem IL-6 is associated with sruem acute phase proteins (hs-CRP, CER and AAG).
