Abstract
Objective To study the value of using early blood purification treating acute methanol poisoning. Methods To achieve the aim of clearing and methanol preventing damag of the organs, early blood purification were used in 44 acute methanol poisoning cases. To learn about the effect of early treatment, blood methanol concentration, biochemical indexes, electroencephalography, visual evoked potential, fundus examination, and the index of death and sequelae of the poisoned patients were observed. Result All of the 44 acute methanol poisoning patients have been cured, leaving only one patient with dysopia. Conclusion Early and adcquately blood purification is an efficient way to avoid the death and sequelae caused by acute methanol poisoning.
