Objective To carry out a cross-sectional analysis of the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in end-stage renal disease(ESRD) patients, and to find the HRQOL characteristic of these patients. Methods chronic dialysis patients who had been dialyzed more than 6 months were enrolled and KD QOL-SF 1.3 questionair were used in this study. And scores were given according to KDQOL-SFTM Version1.3/1.2: A Manual for use and scoring. KDQOL-SFTM Version 1.3 Scoring Program (v3.0)provided by The Kidney Disease Quality of Life (KDQOLTM) Working Group was used to collect data. Results The HRQOL scores in most patients were low,and SexF and SoS scores in female patients were higher than those in male patients. Our result showed significant differences. The clinical correlation analysis showed that age and nutritional situation had great effect on HRQOL. Conclusions The HRQOL score in patients is low. These results could provide researchers and clinicians a more useful measure of HRQOL. HRQOL should be used as an important index to evaluate the clinical treatment level.
