Abstract
Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of continuous venovenous hemofiltration on refractory heart failure in patients with senile valvular heart disease. Methods Clinical manifestation and changes of blood biochemistry, neuroendocrine index were investigated before and after continuous venovenous hemofiltration in patients with secondary to senile valvular heart disease refractory heart failure. Results The study showed continuous venovenous hemofiltration on refractory heart failure in patients with senile valvular heart disease could remarkably reduce mortality from 97.61% to 63.64% (P<0.05). Continuous Venovenous hemofiltration could improve and correct deteriorative plasma levels of sodium (Na), potassium (K), chlorine ion (Cl),blood urea nitrogen(Bun),creatinine(Cr) and albumin within short period, but could not improve neuroendocrine changes of patients with refractory heart failure. Conclution Our data shows that continuous venovenous hemofiltration could be a rapid and effective method on treating refractory heart failure in patients with senile valvular heart disease,it could relieve clinical symptoms, break vicious circle within short period and gain time for further treatment.
