Abstract: Objective To investigate the influence of different blood purification treatment on the serum leptin levels (SLL) in the patients with chronic renal failure. Methods Sixty maintenance hemodialysis patients in our hospital were included, which were divided into homedialysis (HD) group, hemoperfusion (HP) group, and hemofiltration (HF) group. SLL were measured by radioim-munoassay (RIA) before and after treatment. Results SLL in MHD patients were obviously higher than that in the healthy controls. hemodialysis had little effect on SLL,while HF and HP could lower SLL significantly and HP was better than HF. Conclusions HP and HF can eliminate SLL preferably, which may improve the patients' nutritional status.
