Abstract

Objective To study the expression of monocyte chemotactic protein-1(MCP-1)mRNA and protein induced by advanced oxidation protein products(AOPP )in smooth muscle cells(SMCs)．Methods Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)were adopted to measure expression of MCP-1 mRNA and protein．The effect of AOPP on the MCP-1 expression was observed．Results AOPP could enhance the expression of MCP-1 mRNA and protein inSMCs (P＜0.01)．Conclusions It is possibly one of the atherosclerotic mechanisms that AOPP enhance the expression of MCP-1mRNA and protein inSMCs.
