Abstract:

Biofilm is the preferred living style other than planktonic for the microbes in hemodialysis system. The release of bacterial cells and pyrogen severely threaten the dialysis patients. The formation process and mechanism of the biofilm in dialysis system, their characteristics and disadvantageous effect to patients, and the approaches to control them are summarized in this mini review.
