Abstract: Hepatitis B virus infection is one of the common diseases threatening hemodialysis patients. Occult hepatitis B virus infection is a type of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) negative hepatitis B virus infection, which has the potential risk of hepatitis B virus transmission through hemodialysis. Considering the specific significance of occult hepatitis B virus infection(OBI) in a hemodialysis specialty, this article reviews the epidemiology, prevention and control of OBI in hemodialysis patients in order to provide a reference for the management of these dialysis patients.
