Abstract: Objective It was an cross-sectional study about osteoporosis among the maintenance hemodialysis (MHD). Methods Grouping 96 MHD patients by age and sex ,then investigated about their stature/weight/fracture/menstruate et ,detected their bone mineral density (BMD) at the lumbar spine and hip by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA).The data were statistically analysized by SPSS software. Results The case rate of osteoporosis in the older significantly more than the middle-age (P<0.05),but there wasn any obviously difference between the mail and the female. The case rate of the lumbar osteoporosis in the female significantly more than the male (P<0.05), but there wasn any obviously difference between the older and the middle-age. The case rate of the hip osteoporosis in the older significantly more than the middle-age, such as in the menopause than the nulli-menopause (P<0.01), but there wasn any obviously difference between the male and the female. Conclusion To compare with the healthy people, the case rate of OP in the MHD was more higher and little sex difference, and age of onset was younger. The case rate of the hip osteoporosis and the chanciness of fracture was also more than the healthy people too.
