Objective To assess the effect of hemodiafiltration and combined hemodialysis- hemoperfusion on the quality of life in patiens with uremia. Methods Twenty maintenance hemodialysis patients who were randomized to receive HDF and/or HD-HP therapy more than three months were enrolled in the study. The quality of life was evaluated using SF-36 questionaire. Results ①Total score of SF-36, total score of physiohealth, bodily pain, role-physical and general health score significantly rise in uremic patients after the administration of HDF and/or HD-HP; ②Total score of psychohealth, physical functioning, role-emotional, mental health and vitality had no evident change in uremic patients after HDF and/or HD-HP; ③ social functioning score significantly decreased in uremia patients after HDF and/or HD-HP treatment. Conclusion ① HDF and/or HD-HP may significantly improve the quality of life of uremic patients, especially release bodily pain; ② But the two approaches may not improve the psychohealth of uremic patients .
